Medicare
Medicare rebates
With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate on sessions with an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. A plan provides rebates for a set number of sessions each calendar year.
Not sure where to start? Book a longer appointment with your GP and mention you’d like a Mental Health Treatment Plan — I’m happy to guide you through the rest.
Private health
Some private health funds offer rebates for social work or counselling under extras cover. Check with your fund — you can’t claim both Medicare and private health for the same session.
Telehealth
Telehealth sessions are available across Australia and may also attract a Medicare rebate with a current Mental Health Treatment Plan.
Cancellation policy
Life with a baby is unpredictable — I understand completely. I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule so the time can be offered to someone else. Cancellations inside 24 hours may incur a fee. (Exact terms to be confirmed.)
