Getting started

What actually happens in a first session

30 April 2026

Booking a first session can feel like a big step, especially when you’re already running on empty. So here’s exactly what to expect — no surprises.

Before we start

There’s nothing you need to prepare. You don’t have to arrive with a tidy explanation of how you’re feeling, or the right words for it. "I just know something isn’t right" is a completely valid place to begin.

You’re welcome to bring your baby. Feeding, settling, the occasional cry — all completely fine.

In the room

The first session is gentle and unhurried. We’ll talk about what’s been happening, what feels hardest right now, and what you’re hoping might be different. I’ll ask some questions, but you’re always in charge of how much you share — you never have to go anywhere you’re not ready to go.

Towards the end, we’ll talk about how we might work together, how often, and what would actually help. There’s no pressure to commit to anything on the spot.

Afterwards

Many mothers say the biggest surprise is relief — the relief of finally saying it all out loud to someone who isn’t shocked, who doesn’t judge, and who genuinely understands this particular season of life.

Still unsure? A free consult call is an even smaller first step — a relaxed chat to see if we’re the right fit.

If you need help right now

This website does not provide crisis or emergency support. If you are in distress or worried about your safety or someone else’s, please reach out immediately — you deserve help right now.

You don’t have to carry this alone

If something here resonated, a free consult call is a gentle next step.
