Postnatal depression

For mothers in the first year after birth who feel low, numb, tearful or disconnected from their baby.

You were told these would be the happiest days of your life. Instead you feel flat, exhausted in a way sleep doesn’t fix, and quietly terrified that something is wrong with you. Maybe you go through the motions of feeding and settling while feeling strangely far away from your baby — and then drown in guilt for feeling that way.

Postnatal depression is common, treatable, and not a verdict on the kind of mother you are. It is not weakness, and it is not your fault. With the right support, the heaviness lifts and you begin to feel like yourself again — often more solid than before.

Together we make sense of what’s happening, gently loosen the grip of guilt and self-criticism, and build practical, sustainable ways through the day. You don’t have to perform ‘fine’ here.
